The “Papillon” trench coat design was based on the styles and silhouettes of Dior's New Look from 1947 the fitted bodice and waist then leads into the large flowing bottom, then juxtaposed with the statement bell sleeves that have been bleached to reflect the current trends in design. Taking the coat into a natural, equestrian landscape further contrasts the luxurious look of the garment and adds a rustic element to the images.
